Overview

The Lodge is located around the Mt Kenya region. Mt Kenya is Africa's second highest peak and regarded as the realm of Ngai "god" of the local Kikuyu people. It was also known as Kirinyaga meaning 'place of light'.The mountain is an awe-inspiring sight. Its ragged series of peaks are crowned with snow, and its slopes are thick with forest. It's the only mountain on the equator which has snow cap.

Rhino Watch Lodge is a natural paradise of untouched forest of euphorbia trees, orchids in full bloom and birds everywhere. Rhino Watch Lodge promotes sustainable tourism. We attempt to make a low impact on the environment and local culture, while helping to generate employment for local people. Our aim is to ensure that development brings a positive experience for the local people

RhinoWatch Lodge has two types of accommodation Chalets and Luxury Tents.

They are 14 rooms in total in total. seven of each(seven chalets and seven tents)

The chalets have a panoramic view from the bed, overlooking mount Kenya with very high roof which ensures natural ventilation, private terrace which has attractive view to mount Kenya and and the Solio Plains. The terrace overlooks a glorious garden. The generous front windows offer a wonderful view of Mount Kenya, to be enjoyed from all the chalets.

Two of the Seven chalets are Family chalets which can occupy up to a family of 5 pax. All the chalets are spacious and have a king size bed with very fine linen. They also have spacious bathrooms with African decor.

The tents are situated in the lower area of the resort in a secondary forest of trees and shrubs. 7 safari tents have been set up here. Well-made paths will take you to a campfire-place, the dining-place and other parts of the resort. All the tents are fully furnished with flush toilets and warm water showers.
