Lake Manyara is a shallow fresh-water lake in Tanzania. The name "Manyara" is a maasai word derived from a plant that is grown into a hedge known as emanyara.

The lake is an alkaline one and is most famous for the baboons that live around it. Another great attraction is the bird life in the park. The birds in the park include the long crested eagle and flamingos

While at the park if you are lucky you will sure get a glimpse of the famous Lake Manyara tree-climbing lion and the leopards which roam the area.
